I’m Aya, a family and lifestyle photographer based in Honolulu, Hawaii.　I’ve been living in Hawaii for over 15 years. Originally from Japan, I’m also a mom of two teenagers — I still can’t believe they’re teenagers. Time really flies.

Throughout my journey as a photographer, I’ve had the privilege of meeting families from all over the world and capturing meaningful moments in their lives.

Even in the same place, at the same time, every family carries a different feeling. The laughter, the quiet moments, and the way they share space together — all of it belongs uniquely to that family. During a session, I may gently guide you with simple prompts, but what unfolds from there always happens naturally — expressions, movements, and emotions that are true to you. To me, it’s not about perfect poses, but about you being present with your loved ones while I quietly capture the moments that unfold between you. The laughter, the running, the shyness — even the moments that don’t go exactly as planned — are all part of your family’s story. You don’t need to know how to pose. I’ll guide you gently, and the rest will come naturally.

My hope is that years from now, when you look back at these photographs, you’ll feel the love and connection of that moment all over again.
