Best Ramen in Oahu

There are truly so many restaurants on Oahu! Among them, I often get asked—maybe because I’m Japanese (haha)—where to find good ramen, sushi, or Japanese food. I know everyone has their own taste when it comes to ramen, but I’d love to share a few of my personal favorites!

1. Kamukura-Ramen / Kamukura Surf+Dine

Originally from Osaka, Kamukura is known for its secret French-style consommé broth—light, flavorful, and totally unique. Their signature “Oishii Ramen” features imported straight noodles and fresh cabbage. The Ajitama Ramen with soft-boiled egg and plenty of green onion is a must-try!

2. MENYA Le Nood

Just a 3-minute walk from Ala Moana Center, MENYA Le Nood serves rich, creamy tonkotsu-based ramen with thick wavy noodles and melt-in-your-mouth kakuni pork. Their tsukemen (dipping noodles) is especially popular among local foodies. Bonus: all dishes are free of MSG and artificial additives.

3. Golden Pork Tonkotsu Ramen Bar

Located on King Street, this spot specializes in rich tonkotsu ramen and tsukemen. Don’t miss their popular side dish—the Golden Pork Bun—featuring thick, house-made char siu tucked into a fluffy steamed bun.

4.RAMEN BARIO

Originally from Tokyo, where long lines form daily, this popular ramen spot is known for its rich tonkotsu broth and massive mountain of vegetables piled high over thick noodles. You’ll find Bario at Ala Moana Center (Makai Market Food Court) and inside Waikiki Shopping Plaza.

5.Kamitoku Ramen Ward Center

Located at Ward Center, Kamitoku brings over 70 years of ramen tradition from Tottori, Japan. Their signature gyukotsu (beef bone) ramen offers a rich, savory flavor you won’t find elsewhere. Variations like beef shoyu, spicy beef tan-tan, and light yuzu-flavored broth make for a unique and satisfying bowl.
